If your family is in the market for a vacation destination that offers a little something for everyone, the state of Florida should top the list. With more activities than can be listed in a single sitting, when it comes to fun for tourists, Florida is unbeatable.

No matter the age of family members, there's an attraction in the state that's sure to appeal. From swimming and diving to hiking, biking and horseback riding, the outdoors has lots of options for visitors. Plus, there are other attractions, such as amusement parks, cultural sites, natural gardens, museums and more.

Some of the top attractions for entire families within the state of Florida include:

Fireworks at Disney World in Orlando Florida

  • The Orlando area. This is one of the biggest draws in the state. The greater Orlando area includes such theme parks as Walt Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, MGM, Epcot and more. In addition, the region is also home to a number of museums, historic sites and art galleries. There's no shortage of action here and many a family has stayed in Orlando for an entire vacation without running shy of fun things to do.

  • Miami/South Florida. With the Keys to the south, the beaches and draws of Miami and the cultural exhibits of West Palm Beach all near by, this region is great for entire families.

  • St. Augustine. The country's oldest city was founded by the Spanish and continues to bear witness to a long and storied history. This area is great for a "thinking" vacation, but it's so much fun, the kids won't know they're learning. In addition to a large historic area, complete with period re-enactors, visitors will find lighthouses, museums, shopping, beaches and even a Ripley's Believe It or Not.

  • Tampa/St. Pete. With Tampa's Busch Gardens and Ybor City and St. Pete's pier and museums, this area is a great stop for a day or seven, too. There's lots to see and do for an entire family in this area. Possibilities beyond the parks include swimming, museum and gallery hopping, shopping, upscale dining and even some serious study at the Manatee Viewing Area in South Hillsborough County and a number of ancient Indian sites.

Florida's just one of those tourist stops that offers a little something for everyone. If kicking back and relaxing is all that you want, thenthis is the area to go.

If some serious theme park fun is on the agenda, the state will not disappoint. The sky is the limit in Florida and if a visitor happens to stop in Zephyrhills, they can even do a little diving from it, too!
